when a number is multiplied by 4 before subtracting from 68,the result obtained is the same as three times the sum of the number 4.

→ 68 - 4x = 3(x + 4)

→ 68 - 4x = 3x + 12

→ 68 - 12 = 4x + 3x

→ 56 = 7x

→ x = 56/7 = 8

Hence the required number is 8
