Let the number be x

A number multiplied by 3 = 3 × x = 3x

After a number multiplied by 3 is increased by 20 = x + 20

According to the question,

3x = x + 20

➾ 3x - x = 20

➾ 2x = 20

➾ x = 10

∴ The number is \green{\boxed{\green{\boxed{\red{\textsf{10}}}}}}

Let's check the solution :-

3x = x + 20

By putting the value of x :

➾ 3 × 10 = 10 + 20

➾ 30 = 30

∴ LHS = RHS ✔
