Newton first law motion states that when net applied force is zero the object which is at rest will be in rest , which is in motion it should be in motion

A passenger when desends from a running bus runs forward because the bus is in the state of motion and the passenger is in the state of rest but as he descend of the running bus he is in motion with respect to the surrounding and as he getts off he has to run forward to maintain his body balance properly.
