When a piece of cork is placed in the water, it starts floating on the surface of water due to the upward buoyant force from water. If the cork is pushed more inside the water by applying the force then the buoyant force.......

1)Will increase as the cork is immersed into the water/

2)Will decrease as the cork is immersed into the water

3)Will first increase and then decrease as the cork is immersed more into the water/

4)Will remain the same as long as the cork is inside the water

Answer:

  • This happens because the buoyant force due to water is equal to the weight but if we immerse the cork even more then the force of buoyancy increases because the volume of cork in the water increases due to which the buoyancy increases.
