when a piece of limestone reacts with dilute HCl a gàs 'x' is prouduced. When gàs 'x' is pass through lime water then avoid percipitate 'y' formed. On passing rxes of gas 'x' the white precipicate disolves forming à soluble compound 'z'.

Limestone is CaCO3

Limewater is Ca(OH)2

●CaCO3 + 2H2Cl = CaCl2 + H2O + CO2

☆《X》gas is carbondioxide

When X gas pass through lime water

●Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O

☆《Y》 is calcium carbonate CaCO3

If (X) pass as excess amount it will disolved

●Ca(OH)2 + 2CO2 = Ca(HCO3)2

☆《Z》Is calcium bicarbonate or calcium hydrogen carbonate
