when a piece of paper and a coin are dropped from the same height simultaneously.the coin reaches the ground first and paper takes some times in reaching to the ground.it we crumple up the piece of paper in the form of ball and let the two drop from the same height again they reach the ground almost at the same time .explain the science behind this activity?in about 40to60 words..

It is the science of gravity and air resistance.

Do the same in vaccum, you will see that piece of plane paper and the coin will reach the ground in purely same time.

In general air resistance decreases the falling speed of the plane of paper.

But then we crumple the paper, then air resistance some how decreases.

Remember,in every object at same distance from earth surface (not zero)force by earth/gravitational force is the same,as force of gravity depends on earths mass, not on the mass of the objects we are taking into consideration.

Air resistance plays the role to decrease the falling speed, gravity has the same effect on both coin and plane paper.

Thanks.
Tripathy.
