When a pinch of baking soda is added to vinegar, a hissing sound is produced. Why is it? How
will you identify the gas produced?

Answer:

Because it is an acid base reaction, baking soda is bicarbonate and vinegar is acetic acid & its because the reaction between baking soda and vinegar releases carbon dioxide gas which escapes through bubbles making a hissing sound.
