When a plant cell is kept in a hypertonic solution, the cell shrinks. A hypertonic solution contains more dissolved solute than the cytoplasm of the cell. When the plant cell is in a hypertonic solution, is undergoes plasmolysis, a process in which the cell wall shrinks and becomes flaccid due to the loss of water through exosmosis.

Answer:
✅When a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, the plant cell loses water and the protoplasm of the cell is pulled away from the cell wall. This leaves space between the cell wall and the cell membrane and the plant cell becomes flaccid. This condition is called as flaccidity.
