When a ray of light entering from air is incident on the surface of a glass slab at an 90°angle. What will be the measure of angle of refraction. Why does a ray change its path when it passes from one medium to another medium?

Answer:

No refractiom

Explanation:

When light ray is incident normally between refractive surfaces. There is zero refraction.

Given that,

When the ray of light are incident on the glass medium from air medium at 90° angle to the surface.

We need to calculate the angle of refraction

When the ray of light are incident on the glass medium from air medium at 90° angle to the surface then the rays will move through without changing direction of motion.

In this case, the angle of incidence and angle of refraction are remains zero.

So, The angle of refraction is zero.

A ray of light change its path when it passes from one medium to another medium because refraction of light.

If a light ray passes from a Air  to glass then the path of light bends towards the normal.

If the light ray is passing through a glass to air then the path of light bends away from the normal.

Hence, The angle of refraction is zero.
