Potential difference of the battery = 3 V

Current drawn (I) = 1 A

Now, using ohm's law:

V = IR

R = \frac{V}{I}

R = 3 Ω

Now, one more similar resistance is added in the series:

Total resistance = 3 Ω + 3 Ω = 6 Ω

New current = \frac{3}{6}

New current = 0.5 A

Hence, the current will decrease to 0.5 A on adding extra similar resistance.
