It is not a physical change.

  1. Germination of seed to plant is a chemical change. The reason for this is involvement of hormones and enzymes along with various chemical reactions that assist the growth of seed.
  2. The change is also irreversible as the grown up plant can not become seed again, but can produce new seeds.
