When a shirt was sold for rs. 2, 500, there was 25% profit. What was the cost price of shirt?​

Solution:

Let the cost prize of the shirt be x.

Therefore, selling prize of the shirt = CP(100+profit%/100)

                                                          = x(100+25/100)

                                                          = x(125/100)

                                                          = 125x/100

Now, according to the question:

125x/100 = 2500

x = 2500*100/125

x = 20*100

x=2000 rs.
