When a solid melts, it's temperature remains constant. So where does heat energy go?

that is know as latent heat .. which id used in changing the state of solid to liquid

When solid melts its temperature remains the same, the heat provided is termed as latent heat . Latent means hidden. The heat provided is used up in overcoming the force of attraction between the particles.
