when a solid melts the temperature of the system doesn't change after the melting point is reached even when we continue to supply more heat. Give reasons.

Answer:

It happens because of latent heat of fusion , when any solid starts melting , then the heat energy that we are applying is used to loosen the intermolecular force of particles . So,when a solid melts ,the temperature of the system does not change after the melting point is reached even when we continue to supply heat.
