There is a lack of oxygen in his muscle cells another pathway for breakdown is akenits converted to lactic acid which accumulates in our muscles. When anaerobic respiration takes place in sportsman's muscles, the glucose is converted to lactic acid with the release of a small amount of energy. Lactic acid which accumulates in our muscles.
