when a stone wrapped in ice melts it will change water level. If we drop a piece of ice in a jar of water then after that ice melts. The level of water remains the same. Because, apparent weight of ice = weight of the displaced water When ice melts, it occupies the volume of displaced water. So water remains at the same level. Also we can say the density of ice is less than the water, so water level remains the same.
