When a substance having mass 3kg receives 600cal of heat, it's temperature increases by 10degree celcius. What is the specific heat of the substance.​

Formula for the equation is -

Q = mc∆t

Q denotes heat energy, m denotes mass of the substance, c denotes specific heat capacity and t represents change in temperature.

Given values in question are -

Mass 3 kg,

Q = 600 cal of heat,

∆t = 10 °C

According to formula -

C= Q/m∆t

C = 600/3*10

C = 20 cal/ kg °C.

Thus, specific heat capacity of substance is 20 cal/ kg °C
