The leaves fall when a tree is shaken. Give reason. Due to inertia of rest, theleaves try to be in rest when a tree is shaken. But the branch and trunk comes into motion which causes theleaves to separate from its branch.

When a tree is shaken its fruits and leaves fall down due to their inertia of rest. The tree suddenly starts moving while the fruits tends to remain in rest. As it detach the force of gravity acts and result in a free fall
