Bitumen is obtained from the process of distillation of crude oil, where the lighter fraction are gasoline while Bitumen belongs to the heavier family of crude oil. Bitumen finds its application roads construction, roofing and  waterproofing.

To use it in roads, we apply the cutback bitumen which is a low viscosity bitumen. Here a volatile solvent is added which then evaprates after application on road
