When a wire elongates along the length, it's radius decreases.
- The volume of the wire must remain same even after elongating.
- The volume of a wire is the relation between length and radius.
- So if the length increases the radius has to decrease so as to make the volume remain constant.
- This happens so because the volume of a material should be conserved.
