Salts are produced by neutralisation reaction between acids and bases.
Salts are composed of related number of cations and anions so that the product is electrically neutral.
pH of salts can be detected in three ways. They are as follows:-
i) Salts of strong acid and strong base is equal to 7 and will be neutral.
For example-
Salt of hydrochloric acid(strong acid) and sodium hydroxide(strong base) is sodium chloride which is neutral and has a pH value of7.
ii) Salts of strong acid and a weak base will have pH less than 7and will be acidic.
iii) Salts of weak acid and strong base will have pH value of greater than 7 and will be basic.

Hope it helps .

it is a mineral composed of sodium chloride (NaCl)
here, it contains ions one is anion(negative ion) and a cation(positive ion).
in NaCl, Na is cation i.e. positively charged while Cl is aa anion i.e. negatively charged.
