There are various ways by which we can identify the evolution of carbon dioxide gas:

i) When you bring a glowing splinter near the test tube , it will extinguish showing the presence of carbon dioxide gas.

ii) When you dissolve carbon dioxide into calcium hydroxide solution also known as lime water it turns milky indicating the presence of carbon dioxide gas.
