Akbar (14 October 1542 – 27 October 1605) was the Mughal emperor from 1556 until his death

He was one of the greatest rulers of the Mughal Dynasty and of India

During his rule, the territories became almost triple in size.

In 1561 Malwa was conquered.

In 1564 Gondwana was conquered.

In 1568 Chittore and Ranthambore were annexed .

In 1570 Gujarat,Bengal and Orissa were conquered.

In 1576 Akbar fought the battle of Haldighati with Rana Pratap,son of Raja Uday singh of Mewar.He also brought Barar Khandesh and parts of Ahmednagar under his control.

Between 1581 to 1598 Kashmir,Sind,Kandahar and Kabul was conquered.This gave way to closer trade relations with central Asia and Persia and made North western frontiers secure.
