when all side of a square were reduced by 6cm,the area became 900cm².what is the length of the side of the original square​

area of new square=( x-6)( x-6)=900

or, x^2-12x+36=900

or,x^2-12x+36-900=0

or,x^2-12x-864=0

or,x^2-36x+24x-864=0

or,x(x-36)+24(x-36)=0

or,(x+24)(x-36)=0

x=-24or 36

since, length can't be negative

side of original square = 36 cm.
