The reaction of the ammonia with the Hydrogen chloride gas is the unique reaction in which Two gases combines to form 1 solids.

HCl(g) + NH₃(g) -----------→ NH₄Cl. (s).

This reaction is used for the test of detection of HCl and NH₃.

During that Reaction, NH₃ gas combines with the acidic gas HCl which in results form the salt called as Ammonium chloride which is appeared as dense fumes.

Hope it helps.
