When an earthquake occur by we should use stairs instead of lift ?

when the earthquake comes all the electric poles may used to get broken so the lift may stop and we can get harm so we should stairs instead of lift

we shoul use stairs instead of lift because we don't know if lift doesn't work then we will not able to go anywhere else moving in the lift .So use stairs
