By passing electricity through aqueous solution of sodium chloride, positively charge sodium ions move towards negatively charged electrode and negatively charged chloride ions move towards positively charged anode.
Cathode is a negatively charged electrode and therefore attracts Na + ions. Anode is a positively charged electrode and therefore attracts
Cl − ions.
