dermal cells (epidermis) helps plants to heal injuries.....

layer of cuticle and dead cells protects plants from attack of injuries....

Dermal tissue in the plants serve as the  the first line of defense system to a physical damage which are mainly caused by insects, and infection.  It covers the outer side of the plants. It help in protecting the plant from the physical damage. It is similar to skin in humans which protect them from the external environment.

The vascular tissue in plants serve to transport water and nutrients to the plants  which are required by the plants for the activity of cells. It transport all the nutrients and water which are required by the plants to obtain energy to heal the plants from the injury.
