Free fall usually which we study in our Newtonian mechanics and it's equation works for body on which only gravitational force acts in that case, yes body is in uniform acceleration which you can derive from its formula. But in reality nothing is moving with constant acceleration, a drag force also acts on body which is directly proportional to v^2. So usually acceleration is not constant but depend upon the mass. But in case of free falling acceleration is constant.
