my calculations shows that 1/3 magnification is at 70cm

distance of object (u) =-60cm.
magnification =1/2
magnification =-v/u
1/2=-v/60
v=-30cm.
Now, magnification =1/3
v=-30cm
1/3=30/u
u=90cm.
Therefore the object should be placed at a distance of 90 cm to get a magnification of 1/3.
