When the object is beyond the centre of curvature of a concave mirror, the image distance is less than the object distance and the image is smaller than the object. As the object is moved towards the centre of curvature, the image distance goes on increasing and equals the object distance when the object is at the centre of curvature. Also, the image size goes on increasing and equals the object size when the object is at the centre of curvature.

As the object moves from infinity towards the pole of the concave mirror, the image moves away from the pole except when the object is placed between focus and pole of the mirror.
