from a concave mirror , the magnifciation produced
is 0.5 where should an object be placed to get a

Answer:

Magnification m=−v/u=−1/2

For the first case u=50cm and substituting this value in magnification formula v=50/2=25cm

Using the formula 1/f=1/u+1/v, we can calculate the focal length for the concave mirror

Substituting u and v , 1/f=1/50+1/25 and thus f=50/3=16.7cm

For the second case, magnification is -1/5 and v in terms of u is (1/5)u

Substituting f and u value in 1/f=1/u+1/v becomes 3/50=1/u+5/u

Solving it for u, the object distance for the magnification -1/5 becomes +100 cm.
