When an object moves in a circular path with uniform speed,
its motion is called uniform circular motion. When an object
moves in a circular path with constant speed, then its velocity
changes due to continuous change in the direction of motion
of the object.
Hence, the object is accelerated without changing its speed.
The direction of acceleration is towards the centre of the
circular path and is known as centripetal acceleration. The
force needed to produce circular motion is known as

Example of circular motion are motion of the moon around the
earth and the motion of the earth around the sun, a satellite in
a circular orbit around the earth, a cyclist on a circular track at
