An object is said to be in motion if it changes its position with time,with respect to its surroundings. (while an object is said to be at rest if it does not change its position with time with respect to its surroundings). A boy is running is said to be in motion.

the object is said to be in motion when it is moving compared to other bodies and said to be in rest when is not moving compared to other bodies.
