Concept:

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity with respect to time. It is a vector quantity. The SI unit of acceleration is metres/second^2 ( m/s^{2}).

Given:

we have,

Initial velocity(u) = 10 m/s, Final  velocity(v) = 70 m/s, Time (t) = 3s

Find:

We have to find the value of acceleration (a =?)

Solution:

To find the acceleration, the formula is given as

                             a = \frac{v-u}{t}

                                = \frac{70-10}{3}

                                 = \frac{60}{3}

                                 = 20 m/s^{2}

Hence the value of acceleration when an object speeds up from 10 m/s to 70 m/s in 3 second is 20 m/s^2.
