When an onion cell and an animal cell is placed in a solution, the following is observed 1)onioncell becomes larger but do not burst. 2) animal cell becomes larger and burst.
a) Name the solution.


b) Why onion cells do not burst and why animal cell burst?​

a) The solution is Hypotonic solution.

It is a solution which, contains lesser solute concentration.

b) The RBCs burst easily because they are animal cells and do not have cell wall. The onion peel possess cell wall which makes it resistant to bursting due to swelling caused by endosmosis.
