No. Chemical reaction doesn't occur.

The gas that is released is most commonly Carbon Dioxide (CO2). The CO2 is already dissolved inside the soda bottle. When you open the cap, the pressure inside is released and the CO2 escapes.

there is no chemical reaction
in a bottle of soda there is pressurized carbon dioxide . when you open the cap the the pressurized carbon dioxide released in air.

as commonly if you shake the bottle the pressure of carbon dioxide is increase , then you open the cap the soda also come out with the pressurized carbon dioxide.


WARNING. !!!!!!!!
don't drink more than 5 bottle of soda because the carbon dioxide also in soda.
and that's why in your body carbon dioxide increases. it may be harm full.
