Explanation:
- Despite her disabilities, Helen prepared herself to face the challenges. She kept aside all her short comings and tried hard to meet her challenges. She tried to speak by keeping one hand on her throat and the other on her lips. By doing this, she started feeling the sound of the words. Though she made her try to the maximum, she couldn’t speak properly.
- Then with the help of Sarah Fuller, Anne slowly started speaking as Sarah practiced her by placing Sarah’s hand on her lips, tongue, face and throat while she was talking. With the help of vibration, Anne tried to imitate Sarah’s lip movements. This was totally exhausting for Anne, yet she managed to utter her first sentence “It’s too warm here”. Thus, she learned to speak gradually but she couldn’t speak with clarity.
