Alleged misgovernment The kingdom of Oudh was the only great Indian state whose ruler Nawab Wajid Ali Shah was dispossessed on the ground of “intolerable misgovernment”. Awadh was annexed in February 1856 via a proclamation.

Answer:

on 7February 1856 nawab wazid Ali shah was deposed on grounds that awash was not being managed well. on February 13 the court of directors ordered awash's complete annexation to the company's dominions. the annexation of awadh was certainly a case of high-handedness on the past of the company. the British seemed to have broken all their pledges and promises to the ruling chiefs. this caused resentment among those soldiers of the British Indian army who came from awadh.
