1. World Forestry Day is celebrated to promote and create awareness about the importance of forests in our lives and on the planet.

2. On November 1971, the state members at the 16th session of the Conference of Food and Agriculture Organization opted to establish ” World Forestoey Day” on 21st day of March every year.

3. The world Forestry Day is celebrated to recognise the contribution of forests in our day to day life and to provide information about the importance of it for our survival.

4. World Forestry Day focuses on issues relating to forests such as deforestation and its impact and the urgent need for us all to act towards it.

5. School students, environmentalists, and conservationists participate in the various events organised all over the country on World Forest Day.
