The british were very depressed due to the fact that excessive cutting of the trees by the villagers could lead to shortage of timber and bamboo for Europe to export.Also Dietrich Brandis a German Forest expert was called for the scientific planning of the forests in India. So the Indian Forest Service w as set up in 1906.Dietrich Brandis was made the forest inspector of forests in India.
