The Second battle of Panipat was fought on 5th Nov, 1556.
Hemu, the ruler of North India had captured Delhi and Agra. At that time, the Mughal ruler of these places was Akbar. He was very offended by this loss and set out with his mentor, Bairam Khan to recover his territories. HEmu, seeing no alternative, challenged Akbar to a battle not very far from the place where the 1st Battle of panipat was fought.
