When anything is given heat it expands (thermal expension). Then why do rubber band in hot water 'contracts' to its original shape? Why it does not expand???
I will brainlist the best ans.

because on heating the rubber molecules are closely packed and not free to move so rubber got shrink but it is opposite in other material

shobhit2502: this is a property of rubber on heating molecules of rubber get closer so overall decrease in the size of rubber
