When aqueous magnesium chloride reacts with liquid bromine

Answer:

MgCl2(aq) + Br2(l) - MgBr2(in aq solution)+ Cl2(gas)

as while combining magnisium and chlorine you will see that -

Mg Cl

2 × 1=MgCl2 +Br2 (These are the reactants on the left hand side).....(1)

now, br is more reactive than cl which will results in displacing of cl by br

Mg Br

2 × 1 =MgBr2 +Cl2(products on right hand side).......(2), Now by combining (1)&(2), we get-

=MgCl2(aq) + Br2(l) - MgBr2(aq) + Cl2(g)
