In Northern Hemisphere, during June 21st, the days are longer as the North Pole is tilted very close to the Sun (annual summer solstice). In most parts of the world the days are longer during the summer season.

Summer season in the areas close to the equator are hot and humid. The equatorial climatic regions receive plenty of rainfall during the summers.
