according to Newton law of motion
a body is in rest remains in rest until a unbalanced external force applied on it..
by this we can say that for a unbalanced external force can change state , shape direction of body
example...if on a body two force of 10newton acting in opposite direction then there is no change in state of body ... because both force will cancel out each other ...and net force is zero

The force acting on a body said to be balanced if the sum of force acting on a body is zero. When we press a balloon from both sides it change it shape and do not brust. The balanced force can change the shape of an object.
