When benzene reacts with CH,Cl in the presence of AlCl, to give 'A' (C.Hg). 'A' reacts with 1 mole of Cl, in the presence of sun light to form 'B' (C,H,CI). 'B' on reaction with KCN to form 'C'. 'C' on hydrolysis gives 'D'. 'C' on reduction with Na and C,H,OH gives 'E'. Identify 'A' to 'E' and explain the reactions.​

when benzene is treated with an alkyl halide in the presence of anhydrous aluminium chloride it gives alkylbenzene. In this reaction hydrogen atom of benzene is replaced by an alkyl group. The reaction is called as Friedel-Craft's alkylation reaction. In this reaction alkyl groups are electrophiles and role of aluminium chloride is to generate these electrophiles. In the given reaction Benzene reacts with methyl chloride to give methylbenzene or toluene.
