When blue coloured crystalline compound is heated , it turns into amorphous white substance and water vapour is released .
Write balanced chemical equation for the above reaction.
Explain whether it is a physical or chemical change.

THE EQUATION IS:-

FeSo4.7H2O (when heated)--->FeSo4 + 7H2O.

(FeSo4.7H2O) is blue coloured crystalline compound.....and.....(FeSo4) is amorphous white substance.

It's a chemical reaction as in this reaction, change of colour occurs.... i.e. blue colour changes to white.

CuSO4.5H2O(s) [∆] → CuSO4(s) + 5H2O

It is a physical change because it is capable of ungoing recrystallization reaction to form CuSO4.5H2O again.

CuSO4 + 5H2O → CuSO4.5H2O
