Answer:

22.5 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the weight of empty bucket be x kg .  Let the weight of water the empty bucket can hold to it's full capacity be y kg.

x + 3/8y = 10  --- [1]

x + 3/5y = 14.5 ---- [2]

Subtract [1] from [2]

3/5y - 3/8y = 14.5 - 10

(24 - 15/40)y= 4.5

9y/40 = 4.5

=> y = 4.5 * 40/9 = 20 kg.

Substituting value of y in [1]

x + 3/8 * 20 = 10

=> x = 10 - 7.5 = 2.5 kg

Thus total weight when filled with water = x + y = 2.5 + 20 = 22.5 kg

Answer:

The weight of the bucket fully filled with water is 22.5 kg.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x denotes capacity of bucket and y denotes its weight

x+3/8y = 10 ...(1)

x+3/5y = 14.5 ...(2)

3/8y+3/5y = 24y+ 15/40y ...(3)

substituting EQ.3 in EQ. 2 and 1

x+3/8y =10 ...from (1)

x + 24y =10... (4)

x+3/5y = 14.5 ...from(2)

x+ 15/40y = 14.5...(5)

Subtracting eq. (4) from eq. (5)

(x+24y=10) + ( x+15/40y = 14.5)

y= 22.5 kg

y = weight of a bucket

hence,

The weight of the bucket fully filled with water is 22.5 kg.
