Answer:

The reaction between limewater, which is a solution of calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2 , andcarbon dioxide will result in the formation of an insoluble solid called calcium carbonate, CaCO3 . The solution will turn milky due to the fact that calcium carbonate is a white precipitate.

Answer:

G is CaCO3, H is Ca(HCO3)2

Explanation:

The equations are as follows:

When CO2 is passed through lime water(Ca(OH)2)

Ca(OH)2 +CO2----> CaCO3(white ppt) +H2O

Due to the formation of CaCO3 the solution turns milky in colour.

When EXCESS CO2  is passed it reacts with caco3 and h2o to form calcium hydrogencarbonate which is soluble in water and hence the solution turns transparent.

CaCO3+H20+CO2-------> Ca(HCO3)2

Thank you !

Hope it helps!
